Ruth DoyleRuth Doyle has a PhD in sustainable living and behaviour change with over 11 year's research and consultancy experience in the area. Passionate about waste, she started her own zero waste journey in 2017 with her young family and documents her progress on Instagram @missionzerowaste. In Spring 2018, she founded 'Glasthule & Sandycove Going Green' together with local businesses to take action to reduce their environmental impact - starting with plastics first. This is the first business-led initiative on plastic waste in Ireland and it has achieved widespread adoption and support from the community. A target has been set for local businesses to substitute three of their single-use, non-compostable plastics with biodegradable alternatives by the end of 2018. Each business has produced their own tailored list of actions and are supporting and encouraging customers to bring their own reusable coffee cups, tote bags and containers. See @glasthulesandycovegreen for more.
Currently she works in M.CO - a strategic design and project management consultancy - where she leads research, engagement and strategy with public sector clients on projects linked to sustainability and health issues. Her professional and personal goals are to drive change towards sustainable living in Ireland - whether its through research to find out how we can encourage behaviour change, to exploring innovative solutions through her @missionzerowaste Instagram, or working on public consultation projects. |
