Richard Burton & Maggie Lynch
Richard Burton is CEO of the Irish Institute of Nutrition & Health (IINH). He studied Human Nutrition at London University under professor John Yudkin, who first exposed how sugar damages our health (‘Pure, White and Deadly’, Penguin Life). This helped inspire Richard’s life-long mission to help people adopt healthy eating, using sound nutrition education and a personalised dietary approach.
Since founding IINH in 2002, Richard has created nutrition training awards for QQI (FETAC) and Pearson (BTEC). He is the main tutor on the BTEC Advanced Diploma in Nutrition & Health Coaching course, and teaches on the Nutritional Therapy Diploma (level 8) course.
Maggie Lynch is married to Richard and is co-owner and Director of Cooking at IINH. She is a qualified chef with three decades of experience in high-end catering.
Maggie graduated as a Nutrition & Health Coach in 2005. In IINH’s purpose-built Taste Health demonstration kitchen she blends her skills and passion for delicious, wholesome food with a warm and relaxed teaching style. Maggie has presented at the Natural and Organic Foods Show at London’s Olympia and at Rude Health, RDS. Her recipe pages feature in Naturally Good Health and Natural Life magazines, familiar to foodies and health store customers across Ireland.
